There’s an SPLC donor born every minute

Who says the Southern Poverty Law Center is all about money and power, and not
about “civil rights” litigation? Well, there’s Stephen Bright,
the former director of Morris Dees’ Southern Center for Human Rights, who
once told him, “You spend so much, accomplish so little, and promote yourself
so shamelessly.” Now, the American Institute of Philanthropy confirms Bright’s
accusation:
“They’re rewarding charities for raising more money every year
whether they need it or not, and that makes no sense,” said Daniel Borochoff,
institute president. “Americans give 2 percent of the gross domestic product
to charity and it’s been at that level for decades. So charities that
collect more than they need are leaving a smaller piece of the pie for the rest.”
The institute has given several well-known national charities an “F”
grade for continuing to raise money while sitting on large reserves. They include
