Dear Ms. Lunelle,
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the Town of Ellenboro, North Carolina, would begin the week long celebration of its annual Historic Town Fair.
Alongside the Honorable Commander Jim Kennedy of the Rutherford Rifle Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, while don in the uniform of the Southern soldier, we would walk among the patrons, staff and vendors of the event, stopping to pose for many, many photos, fielding and answering many questions about the War for Southern Independence and, not to forget, providing an open ear to hear about the many tales told about some family member who served in the Confederate military.
Commander Kennedy and I would be showered with praise from most of those in attendance, and told that over the years we have been there, we had become an integral part of the event, and that people had come to look for us every year.
I only wish that those who have shown so much hate towards our Southern flag and the brave women and men of the South who lost their lives in defense of our homeland could have experienced the love that Commander Kennedy and I would take in from our people whose spirits were so uplifted by our presence. God willing, I look forward to the Ellenboro Fair come next year! God bless you!
