HK In Harper's Ferry

Dear Dewey, HK,

The High holy day for Yankeedom is the weekend of October 16-18, 2009 at Harper’s Ferry West Virginia – where the 150th Anniversary of John Brown’s Raid will be commemorated. For the Left, the Civil War Sesquicentennial begins with John Brown’s Raid – which will get international publicity.

The only place in the universe HK needs to be on that weekend is at Harper’s Ferry standing vigil at the monument to Heyward Shepherd – freed slave, faithful employee of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and 1st murdered victim of Brown’s fanatics.

At my suggestion the SCV is going to proclaim October 16, Heyward Shepherd Day and will lay a wreath this weekend at the monument – I’ll see if I can find his grave.

The big weekend is the 16th-18th – and that is where HK needs to be.

Maybe a commemorative 2009 Heyward Shepherd T-shirt would be a good idea?

Dear Kirk D,

I wholeheartedly agree with you that my presence at Harpers Ferry would be extremely important for our homeland, and certainly send a different message than the one intended by my Northern friends who will come to glorify John Brown, a real criminal. However, I do not have the means to fund such a venture. I would hope that there are those out there who would understand just how important this occasion is and open up their coffers to help. I tire of asking for help in these matters, and only rely on events that I am invited to in order to raise funds, or the few reliable donors who always support me, but I try not to solicit their help ; they just give it. I stand ready should that support come. God bless you.

Your brother,
