Mr. HK,
thanks yet again for your unwavering truths, strength, honesty, & pride to do what you do!!!! So many just don't " get it " & would over react in the wrong direction, before taking a little time to simply read a little,,, or just listen to truth from those that have;;;;; ie you, & others that have, & with no agenda attached simply want "folks" to co-exist without incorrect "notions" of what that uncivil war was about. Now is an urgent time for all, & I for one felt that at least the race issues had long ago been put behind us all. As I watched Mel Gibson in The Patriot , knowing "it's only a movie", as I quickly was caught up in the history, the hurt,,, a couple of things stand forever in my mind; his pushing so hard, not to go to war, as it would be fought on our land, in front of our children, & the family bonded feelings of the good black folks--- that they had for their extended families, a true love & mutual respect they shared & enjoyed, even telling the British that they were, infact not slaves, they were free & happy, working together with the land owner. Then a courageous black man fought side by side with other southerners, befriending and saving a outspoken white guy's bacon, winning his friendship & respect. Where are the times where we had overcome??? Are we as a people & a nation not better than this;;; as I mentioned when I first contacted you, I'm part Cherokee , and they got a raw deal also, but I can't understand Native American art etc, being accepted,,, yet those who strive to deny our Southern history,,, so sad,,, until one views Outlaw Josey Wales, based on the book "Gone To Texas", then one begins to see the norths attitude to anyone not north of the Mason/Dixon. Thanks for your work, & keeping me in the loop,
Kenny
