Sir,

you can let Matt know that suspension for the rebel flag is a clear violation of the 1st amendment.

Though groups like the Klan and others have desecrated the rebel flag, it's not explicitly a hate symbol and it sounds like Matt is simply showing off his southern heritage.

Would the wear of the British flag be a hate symbol, since their army tried preventing us from being a cuontry back in the 1770s?

I recommend he shows the administration books or photos of the non-white rebel soldiers to show that secession was a political movement and not a racist one.
