Thank you, H.K. Thank you!

When I was a boy in South Dakota taking piano lessons from Mom I refused to play "Dixie" because the South "tried to destroy the Union." Much political learning and many years later I know that I had that backward; the Confederacy tried to save the Jeffersonian principles of the OLD Union (true State sovereignty etc.).

Thank you for demonstrating little-known facts such as the existence of Black slave-owners, the story of Confederate sailor White (who was emancipated by a Confederate ship's Captain), etc.

After reading about BHO's "compromise" today to send a wreath to the Black Union Soldiers' memorial to "balance" sending one to the Confederate Memorial at Arlington I wished there was a Black Confederate Soldiers' memorial.

I'm White (not that skin color should matter any more than hair color), and I'm from a northerly-located State, but I'm not Yankee!

THANK YOU!
