HK,
Thanks so much for sending me this e-mail you received from Mr. Williams. It is encouraging to me that there are some young people who are interested in the truth, so ‘The Charge’ of S.D. Lee will continue on after God takes us home. I know I don’t have to say anything, but I would encourage you to do all you can to mentor young men like him, because one of them might be the next HK Edgerton and what if we had a dozen HK Edgerton’s throughout the south fighting for the cause. The thought is stimulating. Through the efforts of our 2nd Lt. Commander, our camp is going to try to plan activities with Mr. Williams camp in Lubbock, with one goal being to help and encourage him.
I haven’t heard anything from the Texas Division officers in some time, but there was an idea last year to bring you back to Texas for Black history month and try to take you around the State and get into the Schools. I shall hope for next year and will begin talking to those folks to make it a reality. If that comes to fruition, I know we would like to take that opportunity to get you and Stuart together in person, which I’m sure he would find an inspiring experience.
Thanks for your time, keep fighting the good fight,
Your Truly,
Mark Wilkins
1st Lt. Commander
SCV Camp 1441-Dunn Holt Midkiff, Midland, Tx.

Dear Mr. Edgerton,
I must say it is an honor to know that you are standing up for Confederates like me all across the South. My name is Stuart Williams, I am nineteen years old and am the historian for the Col. Thomas S. Lubbock Camp 1352 in Lubbock, Texas. I am of mixed race, white and black, and as a proud as a peacock of my 16 Confederate ancestors. I have been a member for about a year and half and have never met more honest and true men as those in this organization in all my life. I must say that our black Confederate ancestors are smiling down from heaven on you, Mr. Edgerton in making sure that OUR Southern history is not forgotten. I attend Texas Tech University and am sorry to say that at this institution, like so many others, our history is being defamed. My U.S. History professor said not two days ago, and I quote, "When I see a Confederate flag on someones car, I feel sick. When I see a bumper sticker that says, 'Heritage not Hate' I am disgusted." Even in an environment of "free exchange," college professors are still allowed to spew their partisan hate as truth. God bless you, sir. I am glad to call you brother. I support you for Commander-In-Chief in 2010 all the way.
Yours In the Cause from a South Plains Confederate,
Stuart Williams
