To A Like Minded Patriot

From: Stuart Williams
Date: Sat, Feb 21, 2009

Dear Mr. Edgerton,

I must say it is an honor to know that you are standing up for Confederates like me all across the South. My name is Stuart Williams, I am nineteen years old and am the historian for the Col. Thomas S. Lubbock Camp 1352 in Lubbock, Texas. I am of mixed race, white and black, and as a proud as a peacock of my 16 Confederate ancestors. I have been a member for about a year and half and have never met more honest and true men as those in this organization in all my life. I must say that our black Confederate ancestors are smiling down from heaven on you, Mr. Edgerton in making sure that OUR Southern history is not forgotten. I attend Texas Tech University and am sorry to say that at this institution, like so many others, our history is being defamed. My U.S. History professor said not two days ago, and I quote, "When I see a Confederate flag on someones car, I feel sick. When I see a bumper sticker that says, 'Heritage not Hate' I am disgusted." Even in an environment of "free exchange," college professors are still allowed to spew their partisan hate as truth. God bless you, sir. I am glad to call you brother. I support you for Commander-In-Chief in 2010 all the way.

Yours In the Cause from a South Plains Confederate,
Stuart Williams
