I sure wish I had a window into your mind so that I could see whether you are sincere in your expressions of your southern pride, or whether it is only theatrics.

I can assure you that as many times as I have had my life and my little brothers on the line, and the places we have been while doing so are no theatrics. I can also assure you that If it was about theatrics, then we are the least financially paid actors in America. However, I can also assure you that we are more paid in love than anyone could ever imagine , and there are so many more people who call themselves Southern who look like me that have the same pride , but don't get the opportunity to show or express it. Neither is the more than honorable stand that their ancestors and mine made alongside the man that they not only called Master, but family and friend see the light of day because those who have depleted that stand from history write the books, produce the movies and increase their cofffers continuosuly with the lies that are designed to keep us forever apart.
I carrried the Southern Cross on foot some 1,600 miles from Asheville, North Carolina to Austin, Texas right through the heart of the South. Down the same road that Dr. Martin Luther King traveled; did Oprah call ? Did Hollywood call ? I carried the Southern Cross on foot to the Hunley Crew Burial and served as a Color Bearer. Did Oprah call ? Did Hollywood call ? I carried the Southern Cross right into Gettysburg along the same route that the Honorable General Robert E. Lee's men traveled from Cash Town. Did Oprah call ? Did Hollywood call ? To the sound of the Rebel Yell from seven young Black boys passing by, my little brother and I just two weeks ago made our way up Pennysylvania Avenue while donned in the uniform of the Southern soldier and carrying the Southern Cross, marched right up to the front gate of the White House where a man of color had just been sworn in two days prior as the President of the United States of America. Did Oprah call? Did Hollywood call ?
Temy, you can call it what you may, but if our actions call attention to the greatest injustice in American history ; to the victor went the spoils. And if we can do anything to correct this injustice placed upon my Southern family, call it what you may.
