My Dear Friend & Commander,

I pray all is well with you this day. As we get ready for the Battle of Aiken let us pause and ask God to allow us to offer our best to Him and our ancestors. I had the honor of being with my brother H. K. Edgerton last night at a Lee/Jackson Dinner and he voiced interest in attending. He would be a welcome voice for the event and he is my Chief Color Bearer. I have taken the liberty of Cc to my friend H.K. and offer his address to you for communication purposes. General Pendleton has verified that he will be attending as well. General Forrest (We were with him last night) is thinking about it. I will continue to encourage him.
