I have personally admired Mr. HK since I first heard of him. I met him at
the parade in Nashville and enjoyed talking to him and Terry Lee. I have been
in contact with him off and on all week concerning the latest developments.
All I know is this, we think we have done our duty by wearing a belt buckle,
hat, or a shirt with the confederate flag on it. We feel we have done a great
service by simply saying we are proud of our "southern & Confederate
heritage." As I understand, Mr. HK does not have a proven Confederate ancestor,
but in my opinion, he has the same right as I to be proud of his southern heritage.
I know it would be hard for me to do the great work as he has, and endure the
undeserving criticism of his own people. When was the last time I walked across
Tennessee carrying the Confederate Flag in order to draw attention, not to myself,
but to the flag. Ask yourself, what draws more attention, a white man with the
"rebel" flag, or a black man with the "rebel" flag. God
does not see us as black or white or red or any other color, but man does. Before
anyone says I am saying Mr. HK is more important than everyone else, I am not.
But as someone else has already said, those who whine, cry, and criticize the
most, are usually those who do the least.
We need all we can get to help us fight in the cause. I feel as though I am
the least among those who are defending our heritage. I am trying to do more,
but my finances and time constraints hinder me. That is why I am willing to
offer as much support as I can to those who are willing and able, with support,
to do the job. Let's keep our eyes on the prize of defending our heritage and
Yours In The Cause,
Joey Nolan, Camp 386
