An Apology From Scott

Hi H.K.,
I am the middle-aged white man who asked you to relocate when you were in front of Zak’s Furniture in Boones Creek. You have a good friend in Bill Hicks who informed me of what your message was and exactly what you were doing. I did some research on you and your organization and wanted to let you know that I truly admire what you are doing and I agree and support you 100%. I will be sending a contribution to your organization tomorrow from my company. Your efforts are to be applauded and I commend you for your dedication to your heritage and your ancestry. You are honoring them well.
The reason I asked you to leave was because I did not know what message you were conveying and we were getting phone calls from people who saw you in front of our store. The phone calls consisted mostly of people wanting to know if you had been a past employee of Zak’s and if we had discriminated you somehow. What was most concerning was we had phone calls applauding us in the event we had discriminated against you. I did not know exactly what your intentions were then, but I felt like we were being unfairly judged by people misinterpreting your actions. I realize that wasn’t your intent, but a lot of people are quick to judge these days based on zero facts and I simply felt we were being unfairly slandered.
Yes, I could have used a better tone of voice and been more polite, and for this, I truly apologize. You seem like a good man and I in no way wanted to harass you in any way. I was simply frustrated due to the crazy people out there assuming we were discriminating against a previous employee.
I support you in your endeavors, but I would like to suggest a discussion on trying to figure out some way to honor your heritage without causing any undue repercussions against the businesses you are standing in front of. I can’t be the only business this has happened to. I would be happy to assist or participate if you would be so kind as to include me in such a discussion.
You are a very interesting person and I truly enjoyed reading about your organization and your endeavors. I wish I would have taken the time to get to know you better when I saw you. I would like to learn more.
Again, my sincere apologies for how I behaved. If you come by again, please stop in and see me for a visit. I don’t have any fried chicken, but I can offer you a hot or cold drink and I would be willing to treat you to some of Dixie Bar B-Q’s chicken. I would love to try it!
Sincerely,

Dear Scott,
God bless you Sir. I am truly moved by your apology. And in the spirit in which it is intended; I accept it. And I look very much forward to breaking bread and conversation with you.
Let me know when you can come down the hill to Mr. Howell's place (Dixie Barbecue), and I'll come across the mountain and sit a spell. Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
