Black Confederates at First Manassas

HK,

Please accept my invitation to come visit me here in my hometown of Centreville VA should you ever happen to be up at Manassas Battlefield.

The park rangers at the battlefield have researched and documented the fact that there was a Black Confederate Artillery crew fighting at 1st Manassas.

Yet that perspective is never shared with the public by the tour guides - unless it is pulled out of them.

How do I know this? I helped develop the diversity trail here in Virginia while also serving as Governor Gilmore's appointee on the State Historical Records Advisory Board.

As the 150th Anniversary of the battle approaches, it is long time to set the record straight.

I would enjoy giving you a tour of our Civil War sites here in Centreville ....sites that ....through the Grace of God ....are not controlled by the Federal Government.
