Relations

Dear Sir,

I would bet with you that you and I are related. There are Edgerton's in my kinfolk. They were Quakers; they came through North Carolina.

Now, I realize that I'm "white" and you're "black" but that has nothing to do with anything. And, quite frankly, I could care less. What does matter is that we are both Americans.

Thank you for standing for the Confederate flag and the truth of the war of Southern Independence and states' rights.

I had family on both sides of that war. My great-grandfather and his brother fought under the Union flag, were captured and imprisoned at Libby. I've often wondered if they realized the truth of Lincoln's War of Aggression.
