Lee and Wesley Norris Question

I had a question about Robert E. Lee. He has been a favoutite of mine but recently I was troubled by hearing about the "testimony of Wesley Norris". I think it is false but wish to be certain. Supposeably a fourmer slave said Lee was cruel to him and othres. This seemed likely to be propaganda from eithre reconstructionist republicans in the 18oos or modern misinfourmation from revisionists attempting to strike at the most shining figure of southren nat
