Winning Or Losing

HK,

I hate for you to give up. I hope my small contributions have been reaching you through Southern Legal. I think what you have done to aid in race reconciliation is admirable. I hope that you will change your mind, but I certainly understand the difficulty of standing against hostility. Let me know if you are going to continue so that I might continue to send you my small amounts of support.

I have just been part of a campaign for a local candidate. It was a disappointment when he lost. However, he and I were encouraged by the following quote from Martin G. Selbrede, "John Calvin insists that Isaiah teaches the exposure of 'hidden wickedness', to the end that the wicked 'may no longer deceive or impose upon any one' ". As a Christian, I realize that we may sometimes lose a skirmish or even a battle, but ultimately hidden wickedness will be exposed. Take heart, HK, for you have exposed wickedness.

Deo Vindice

Jarvis Dean
