H. K. Edgerton,
I want to sincerely thank you for the hard work you have done to educate the minds of the men and women, (boy and girl) across the nation we call home. My grandfathers have been disrespected, degraded, and emotionally spit upon because of the leading movement against proud Southerners who are proud of their heritage.
My blood home is Richmond, my father was born there and my mother was born in Fredricksburg, VA. I grew up with my dad constantly watching the movies of "Gods and Generals" and "Gettysburg". He also use to play the Civil War computer games. We have always been proud of family line, I can go into the back woods of certain areas of NC and look at the rocks representing burial places of my Irish/Scottish grandfathers who settled in this nation.
My belief in the Confederacy, the South, and Christian morals is not only the things driving me in support; its the fact that the same blood that runs through my veins, was the same blood spilled on a battlefield during the Civil War. These men didn't fight for slavery, they DEFENDED their land against invasion. Protected their families and their way of life.
Thank you, and if there is ANYTHING you need please let me know.
Sincerely,
PJ James

Dear PJ,
There is not a day or moment that I not think about the honorable souls that you speak of, and the American tragedy that bounds us all because we are Southern; no matter if our ancestors were freed or indentured.
As the son of former slaves who carries the name of their Master, and who is a recipient of the love that they projected that put the Africans of the Edgerton Clan on a level of existence, consciousness, and social vertical mobility that was marked by accord in sentiment and action by most Southern slave owning Red, Yellow and Black folks; to step every second, every minute, every hour, to the defense of their good names.
And yes, please do send me a donation (HK Edgerton, 71 Buffallo St. Asheville, N.C. 28806), no matter how large or small. It will be appreciated, and badly needed, and I can assure you; I will make you and our ancestors on high, and possibly many who hate all things Southern proud as well, because at the end of the day, we are family, and cannot truly be in unison with the lie that separates us. God bless you, and thanks for the very kind message.
Your brother,
HK
