My Compatriot, H.K. Edgerton, forwarded your message to me and I read the article. The first reaction I had was to the fact that the boys who vandalized the school were 14 years old. As an Assistant Scoutmaster in a local Boy Scout Troop, I can attest to the immaturity, lack of good judgement, and reaction to peer pressure which 14 year old boys exhibit. I was shocked and disgusted by the possibility that the DA could charge them as felons because of a hate crime. This wasn't a hate crime. It was Vandalism!

H.K. and I are both members of a Heritage Veterans Organization, The Sons of Confederate Veterans. We honor the Confederate battle Flag that our ancestors followed into battle and hate all racist groups, including the KKK and NAACP, who twist the meaning of the banner for their own purposes.

I am proud on my Southern Heritage. It is the History of Texas, also. To destroy symbols of our heritage for Political Correctness should not be tolerated.
